1st Aug 10 - Cartmel

Sunshine and showers were the order of the day. Went to Cartmel and climbed Hampsfield Fell. c 5 miles

Cartmel is such a pretty village. All dressed in its summer flowers.
The massive Cartmel Priory. Original building from 1188.

The Hospice at the top. Built by G Remington in 1846 as a shelter for walkers
At the top is a toposcope. Very windy too!
