29th Dec 03 - Wansfell
Another very cold but brilliantly sunny day. Simply wonderful.
We did the classic 6+miler up Wansfell (1500ft) for that glorious view the length of Windermere and beyond to Morecambe Bay. Then along Nanny Lane to Troutbeck before returning on my all-time favourite - Robin Lane.
However many times we do this walk, it never fails to impress. And today it was "dressed" superbly in its best winter clothes!

Wetherlam and Coniston stand out on the horizon
From Wansfell along Windermere
From Wansfell over Ambleside. It was very busy today. You can see the crocodile of walkers (like us) making their way up the steep path.
You can see Morecambe Bay glinting in the sun
High Skelghyll farm with that wonderful curved wall - a curve which is then taken up by the path. Richard atop Wansfell
Elizabeth on Nanny Lane And finally, the view from Crown Rigg as we prepare to come home.
